♦After receiving complaints from Rowan County residents who allege the Facebook website: “Citizens to Re-Elect Jon Barber County Commissioner” misuses their names and photos to imply they “like” the website, the Rowan Free Press decided to visit “Citizens to Re-Elect Jon Barber County Commissioner”. The private Facebook website, currently hidden from public view and run by Mr. Barber, announced the re-election candidacy of Jon Barber for county commissioner. Mr. Barber has posted numerous times on the new Facebook campaign website.
One source believes his name and Facebook photograph was accessed by ”liking” Mr. Barber’s Farm Fresh website. Farm Fresh closed down its South Main location prior to the end of the past harvest season.
Anyone desiring to find out if their name and Facebook photo is being used inappropriately may visit “Citizens to Re-Elect Jon Barber County Commissioner” on Facebook:

Mr. Barber, previously convicted of 2 DUIs and for stealing wine from a Rushco convenience store, had his misuse of county property case, alleged to be between 7,200 copies and 9,200 color copies, forwarded to Rowan County D.A. for possible prosecution.
Mr. Barber led the fight to derail the county commissioners from purchasing the Salisbury Mall.
