♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Rodney Devon Evans AKA Rodney Devon Evins, 23, of 5524 Chasewinds Dr., Charlotte, N.C., was arrested Tuesday around 3 a.m. during a traffic stop at the intersection of Partee and W. Monroe Streets for allegedly for driving with a revoked license, possessing stolen goods (a stolen fir), carrying a concealed firearm, and possessing marijuana.

Evans’s car attracted a patrolman’s attention when he noticed a gray Mazda with an expired license tag and pulled it over at the intersection of Partee and W. Monroe Streets. The Mazda was packed with 5 people. Evans was the driver. The car underwent a search where the officer uncovered two plastic baggies containing 24.4 grams of marijuana stuffed into a front seat cup holder. A .45 caliber semi-automatic was found in the glove compartment. Officers did a weapons check and determined the pistol was reported stolen in Charlotte.
Evans was charged with possession of stolen goods (felony), carrying a concealed weapon (felony), driving while license revoked (misdemeanor), and possession of controlled substance schedule VI (misdemeanor).
Under a secured $20,000 bond, Evans was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. His first court appearance will on February 2nd.
