♦ We have been following this shooting report since just after noon today when received reports of multiple gunshots being fired somewhere in the vicinity of Salisbury High School.
Later we learned from sources in the Salisbury Police Department that a drive-by shooting took place on the 700 block of Victory St. near the intersection of Wilson Road not far from where Albert Brice Shelton, Jr. was murdered last December and in the vicinity of where Aaron Phillip Vaughn was murdered in October of 2014. Today’s 2 shooting victims were standing on a porch when a vehicle pulled up and began firing on them. At least 6 shots were fired in rapid succession before the car sped away. A neighbor, not wishing to be identified, claim they heard 10 shots.
Investigators at the crime scene put down cones to mark off 6 shell casings.

Sources in the Salisbury Police Department believe today’s shooting “may” have been triggered by the bad blood generated by the Shelton murder. This theory has not been officially confirmed.
We understand that today’s two shooting victims, not yet identified, were transported to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police sources inform us that the 2 victims’ wounds are non-life threatening and were walking.
Later today the alleged shooter was taken into custody along with two other men by the East Spencer Police. None of the 3 are said to be cooperating with law enforcement. It’s said the suspected vehicle, involved in the drive-by and reportedly stolen, turned up on Weant St. in East Spencer and was seized.
