♦ At approximately 8:45 p.m. much gunfire broke out on 300 to 500 hundred block of North Shaver. Neighbors reported seeing a woman fleeing from a group of young men firing shots in pursuit.
Later, Salisbury Police Captain Sheila Lingle told our reporter on the scene that two men were in custody and a man and woman were shot and were transported to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their wounds were non-life threatening.
No motives for the shootings were provided so far. The two men in custody and the wounded man and woman are yet to be identified.
Several vehicles, parked near the crime scene, were struck by bullets. Officers searched with flashlights along North Shaver from the 300 block to the 500 block for shell casings.
The Salisbury Police Department was supported on the scene by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the N.C. Highway Patrol, and the Salisbury Fire Department.
