N.C. Connections Academy Opens Enrollment for 2017-18 School Year! Virtual Public School Adds 11th Grade

♦ (Durham, NC March 1, 2017)— North Carolina Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public school, is now enrolling students in grades K-11 for the 2017-18 school year. Beginning with the 2017-18 school year, North Carolina Connections Academy will add eleventh grade to its high school program, and will add 12th grade the following school year.

For families interested in learning more about the high-quality online program, the school will be hosting free information sessions—both online and in-person. Online sessions will begin March 2 and in-person events will begin later this month. A complete schedule of events is available on the school’s website.

North Carolina Connections Academy, is in its second year as a virtual public school under the North Carolina Office of Charter Schools, Department of Public Instruction. It brings full-time, public education to students across the state, and enables students to learn from wherever there is an Internet connection. North Carolina-certified teachers work closely with students and Learning Coaches—a parent or other adult—to develop customized study programs that meet student’s individual needs. Currently, North Carolina Connections Academy serves approximately 1800 students and the cap will be increased to 2100 students for the 2016-17 school year.

North Carolina Connections Academy free information sessions will give students and parents an opportunity to explore the online program and curriculum, connect with administrators, teachers and other NCCA families, learn about the individualized approach to education and get an understanding of the enrollment process, among other topics.
