♦ Salisbury has two options left on its platter to deal with it’s desperate financial and police crisis due to the Fibrant debacle.

Option one and a choice the city will be forced to take sometime toward the end of the 2017 fiscal year: drop Fibrant and face a few years of the LGC taking over the city’s finances and running them responsibly. Not really a bad idea. Of course those citizens who truly love Salisbury and want to hurry its comeback would be best served by dropping their Fibrant subscriptions.

Option One:  Drop Fibrant and let the LGC take Over.

Option Two: Disband the city charter and unincorporate.  Simple.  No more Salisbury.  Rowan County takes over Salisbury’s former turf.  Lots of towns are disbanding across the U.S.A. and their county’s are taking the unincorporated lands over for a fresh start.

Maybe a few years from now a few select parts of the former Salisbury can make a comeback with another name. Why not South Spencer? It wouldn’t have the impediment of being named Salisbury.

Here’s a Wall Street Journal report on “disbanding” as a cure for Salisbury’s meltdown into violence, a grossly understaffed police department, and the Fibrant fiasco about to pull the financial plug on Salisbury.
