♦ North Carolina Superintendent Mark Johnson made a recent visit to North Carolina Connections Academy. State Superintendent Johnson spent time talking with North Carolina Connections Academy’s (NCCA) parents, teachers, school leaders, and board members. With its exponential growth in student enrollment, learning flexibility, access to NC certified-teachers, and growing interest, NCCA is becoming an excellent choice for students across the state.
School Superintendent Nathan Currie said, “We are so fortunate to have the support of State Superintendent Johnson and the Department of Public Instruction.” Johnson also spent time observing and interacting within virtual Live Lessons at the school.
North Carolina Connections Academy is a tuition-free, virtual public charter school currently serving students in grades K-10. The school was approved in February 2015 by the North Carolina State Board of Education and NCCA provides students with the flexibility to learn from anywhere there is an Internet connection and with an innovative online curriculum that meets rigorous state education standards. The combination of certified North Carolina-based teachers, an award-winning curriculum, engaging electives, technology tools, and social experiences provides a supportive online learning opportunity for students who want an individualized approach to education. With the 2017-18 school year, NCCA can enroll up to 2100 students across North Carolina in grades K-11. 12th grade will be added the following school year.
