♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Marjo Lavon Edwards, 42, of 816 Park Avenue in Salisbury, was the victim Friday of assault–knife in a park area at 505 E. Liberty Street and robbed of $60 by an unidentified assailant. The stabbing was reported to 911 dispatch at 5:59 p.m. Edwards sustained internal injuries and was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for treatment. Unconfirmed reports say he was transferred to a hospital in Winston-Salem for surgery. His current condition is unknown.
The case remains under investigation. No suspects have been named.
