♦ Salisbury Police Sources report that Lesleigh Drye, 53, of Pine Tree Road in Salisbury was the victim of larceny–purse snatching at the very popular Harris Teeter supermarket at 850 W. Jake Alexander Boulevard on Monday. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch 8:45 p.m. No injuries were reported. The purse snatcher was long gone. He helped himself to $400 in cash and preferring to travel light, tossed the pocketbook where it was soon recovered. The pocketbook itself was a Tory Burch designer pocketbook (valued at $450), an iPhone6 smartphone (valued at $600), an N.C. driver’s license (valued at $38), and 2 credit cards (valued at $2). The total recovered value of all the items was $1,090.
The case remains under investigation. Perhaps the store security cameras caught the purse snatcher on video. No suspects have been named.
