♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Frankie Eugene Cox, Jr., was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police set up a perimeter around an apartment on East Lafayette Street. The Police received intelligence from an informants that Cox was hiding out there. The Salisbury Police Special Response Team (SRT), in Kevlar vests, wearing helmets, and armed to the teeth, hunkered down behind any cover they could find. A Salisbury Police negotiator called out to Cox with a bullhorn to turn himself in voluntarily. Earlier officers cleared nearby homes and directed citizens to safety. Police and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office vehicles swarmed into the area.
The negotiator didn’t have to wait long. Cox came out without a struggle. Handcuffed and padded down, he was taken into custody and placed in a caged police vehicle. Tonight he would be staying in the Rowan County Detention Center without any bond. Another murder warrant served in Salisbury, N.C.
