♦ Salisbury Police sources reported that an “assault-other dangerous weapon” took place Wednesday afternoon June 14th at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center at 612 Mocksville Avenue in Salisbury. The assailant assaulted 3 persons with a blunt object (club, hammer, etc.). The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 1:42 p.m. The 3 victims were Sarah Jones, 27, of Saint Cyril Lane, in Salisbury, Jesse Drakeford, 27, an employee of Novant Public Safety from Kannapolis, and Trina Whitley, 32, of Admiral Drive, Salisbury.
At least one of the victims sustained internal injuries from the blunt force blows. Their current medical condition has not been released. No motive for the attack was provided or description of the assailant given.
The case will go no further because the victims did not want to prosecute.
