♦ Raleigh, NC – Word is just in that NC Senator Andrew Brock (R-34) a Davie native, who represents most of Davie, Iredell and Rowan counties, was appointed in House Bill 256 to the NC Board of Review. Brock will resign from the state senate on June 30th to take the job. The N.C. Board of Review is the same as the local board of review. Property owners in disputes of property taxes and workman’s comp claimants can appeal to this board. Brock, first elected to the State Senate back in 2002, was appointed to the NC Board of Review by both the State Senate and the House of Representatives

The good news for Senator Brock is that his yeoman’s $13,995.00 per year annual salary will be replaced with one that is approximately $120,000.00 per year salary.

The GOP Executive committees from the three counties forming senate district 34 will be tasked with appointing Brock’s replacement and perhaps a lot inter-party maneuvering might occur. When a currant elected official is appointed to Brock’s seat, additional votes would have to happen to fill that person’s seat as well.

In any event NC Senator Andrew Brock will be missed especially by folks in Rowan County.
