♦ It’s no secret that Salisbury’s elderly are chronic targets of robbery (armed or brute force), street beatings, pursesnatchings, and even carjackings. Unless they carry a firearm they are basically meat. Wednesday night at the upscale Alexander Place Apartments, location of the 2016 Joseph David Walker murder at 632 Hamilton Drive, a 72 year old man was held up at gunpoint in the parking lot. Before 2017 closes out we expect more murders and armed robberies in Salisbury. Perhaps record numbers. The Fibrant debacle left our city a sitting duck and our elderly easy prey.
According to Salisbury Police sources Roger Carson, 72, of the 631 Hamilton Drive (The Alexander Place Apartments) was the victim of a robbery-firearm. A stranger held a handgun on Carson and forced him to turn over his wallet, ID, and credit cards in the apartment complex’s parking lot. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 10:40 p.m. No injuries were reported.
At this time no arrests have been made.
