Updated! Salisbury: Woman Shot Answering the Door Late Friday Night on West Lafayette Street. The Mysterious Shooter Quickly Vanishes

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Sarmba Pecal Medina, 48, living at 116 W. Lafayette Street in Salisbury was the victim of an “assault-gun” just before midnight on Friday, August 4th.  Medina answered her front door and was shot in her left bicep, left side of her face (grazed), and left shoulder by a Black stranger standing in her yard. She heard multiple shots.  A call went out to 911 dispatch at 12:04 a.m. Friday and the Salisbury Police responded. She was conscious and still upright when officers arrived. Medina was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center where she later reported on Facebook that she is okay.

Her attacker is described as light-skinned Black man, slim, about 190 lbs., standing approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall. His hair is cut short, wore orange pants and a multi-colored plaid shirt.

If you live in Salisbury, N.C. it is wise not to answer the door for strangers or persons who show up unannounced especially after nightfall. Salisbury is suffering through a major crimewave involving shootings, murders, and homeinvasions and Salisbury at the present time is rated as the 9th most dangerous city in North Carolina by two websites. It’s FBI UCR crime statistics are extremely high.
