♦ One of the more dangerous jobs in Salisbury, N.C., besides being a policeman on an understaffed police department, a pizza delivery person, or even opening your front door to a stranger, is working in a gas station convenience store for scrape-by pay. Count the times in the last year clerks and managers got handguns or knives held on them while they emptied their cash registers or safes or were forced into a backroom to lay facedown on a cold floor? Imagine staring up at a steel blue semi-automatic pistol…or 8 inches of assault knife with a blood groove and the ability break ribs.
According to Police sources Frank Alfonzo Young, 52, of Salisbury, was arrested for allegedly “intimidating or interfering with witnesses”. He was spotted at 2345 Statesville Boulevard at 2:21 a.m. and arrested allegedly for intimidating Kelly Smith, 22, of Salisbury, a Kangaroo Express convenience store employee about a half hour earlier. According to reports Young allegedly came through the front door and threatened Smith with a knife.
