♦ The sounds of violence are alive during Salisbury’s long hot summer. The sirens and gunfire are everywhere at nightfall in the 9th ranked most dangerous city in North Carolina. Salisbury is truly a city of innovation. Almost daily our street criminals find new uses for a rock. We truly are the “silicon valley of the South”.
According to Salisbury Police sources James White, Jr. of Hobson Road in Salisbury was the victim of “assault–knife” on the street at 610 Mocksville Avenue. A stranger, armed with a knife came up on White and assaulted him. According to the police report White sustained minor injuries from the attack.
The assault was reported to 911 dispatch at 5:16 a.m. and the police responded a short time later. No motive for the knife assault was given and no description of the attacker was provided.
