**Salisbury: Rodney Carpenter Shot and Stabbed During Home Invasion Sunday Morning on Vanderford Street. Victim in Stable Condition**

**Updated: According to a family member Rodney Carpenter is now in stable condition, but faces more surgeries.**
♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Rodney Antonio Carpenter, 32, and Rhonica Lyee Woodruff, 44, both living at 211 Vanderford Street in Salisbury’s West End, were victims of a home invasion.  Carpenter was the victim of an “assault-gun”, “assault-knife”, and “burglary–forcible entry”. Carpenter sustained major injuries from being shot and stabbed when two robbers burst through the front door.  Said to be in critical condition, Carpenter was helicoptered to Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem where he is undergoing surgery.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 2:52 a.m.  Officers and emergency responders arrived on the scene quickly.  No report of Wooduff being injured.

Salisbury Police Officers were gathering spent shell casings from a handgun on the property in the early morning hours and interviewing neighbors.
