♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Heath Lane Mitchem, 20, living on Rainey Road, a sophmore Catawba College pitcher, former Rowan County Player of the Year (Carson High School), collegiate swimmer, and playing for the Morehead Marlins a summer collegiate instructional league team, was the victim of “robbery-strong arm no weapon” just after midnight Saturday in the Domino’s Pizza parking lot at 1601 W. Mitchem was walking back from a friend’s home on Link Street when he entered Domino’s parking lot and trouble showed up.  Mitchem gave up $15 to two Black males after they ordered him to give them everything he had, threatened him, shoved him, and patted him down.

No reports of injury during the strong arm assault.  Although the crime occurred at 12:05 a.m. Saturday morning, the crime was not reported to 911 dispatch until 5:58 p.m.
