♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Timothy Brian Fisher, 44, a resident of the streets of Salisbury with a N.C. DOJ history of “soliciting charitable contributions”, was the victim last Sunday at 11 p.m. of a “robbery-strong arm no weapon” on N. Long Street near the intersection of E. East Cemetery Street. His assailant, with whom Fisher was acquainted, physically forced him to handover $50 in cash before robber left the area on foot. The crime was not reported to 911 dispatch until this past Wednesday August 30th at 8:13 p.m. No injuries were reported.
No description of the robber is available. No suspects have been named.

Fisher is among the many urban survivalists and panhandlers who graze North and South Main Streets Downtown looking for alms or hangout night and day in the fast food and convenience store parking lots on East and West Innes Streets. They live under bridges, in vacant and abandoned dwellings, and in tarp cities in the woods. A number of these transient folk, often plagued by alcohol abuse and heroin and opioid addiction, find themselves arrested for trespassing, shoplifting, vandalism, breaking and entering into vehicles, dwellings, and buildings among other crimes.
