♦ According to Salisbury Police sources, Corey Parnell Sims, 28, living on Hall Street in E. Spencer, was a victim of “assault-gun” and was shot on the street by 802 N. Green Street in Salisbury on Sunday morning. Bleeding profusely from multiple gunshot wounds, he was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. His condition remains unknown at this time. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 3:04 a.m. It is said that Sims did not know his shooter who employed a handgun.
Officers fanned out along the 800 block on N. Green Street, questioned neighbors, and hunted for evidence on the darkened Street. They turned up several shell casings.
The shooting remains under investigation. At this time no suspects were named and no motive was provided.
