Salisbury: Woman Shot at in Car Sunday Night on Messner Street // Homeless Woman Assaulted with a Knife Friday Night on E. Innes by I-85

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Rachel Hart, 74, living on E. Horah Street, was the victim of “all other discharging firearm” in the street by 412 Messner Street.  A stanger opened fire on Hart’s white 1998 Toyota Camry.  A car parked near by was struck by a bullet and a shell casing was found by officers in the street.  A handgun was determined to be used.  No injuries were reported.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 9:28 Sunday.

At this time no suspects were named and no motives for the shooting were released.

♦ According to sources in the Salisbury Police Department, Jo Ann Hoots, 50, of the streets of Salisbury, was the victim of a “assault-knife” Friday in an open land area at 1098 E. Innes Street near I-85.  Hoots was threatened with a pocket knife by someone she was acquainted with from life on the streets.  Hoots suffered no reported injuries.  The police seized a pocket knife.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 10:35  p.m.
