♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Christopher Ray Payne, 38, was arrested at his home on 1090 Chickadee Lane, Woodleaf, N.C. on Thursday at 3:30 pm. for the alleged armed robbery of Rushco #4 at 1901 W. Innes Street on October 3rd.

“According to Salisbury Police sources the Rushco Convenience Store #4 a 1901 W. Innes Street was the victim of a “robbery-strong arm no weapon” on Tuesday when a man, with his head and face obscured by a hoodie entered and threatened a clerk. No weapon was visible. No injuries were reported. A clerk reported the crime to 911 dispatch at 10:48 a.m. and the police arrived a short time later.
An undisclosed amount of cash and product was taken. Likely a security camera video will soon become available.
The crime remains under further investigation. No suspects have been named at this time.
