♦ Beleaguered Salisbury retailers, both big box chain stores and the mom n’ pop shop locals, suffer daily from shoplifting, counterfeiting, armed robberies, and the disappearance of valuable store equipment.  An army of Salisbury revolving door criminals and drifters jack-up stores’ overhead and endanger their employees and customers.  Salisbury isn’t looking like a great place for retailers in recent years due to crime and a more recent fact of life: internet retail, like Amazon, is devouring whole its brick and mortar counterparts.

According to Salisbury Police sources Kmart at 815 E. Innes Street was the victim of a “larceny-all other” on Sunday.  Shipping and receiving noticed their Toyota 42 industrial forklift, required for incoming product, was missing. Nowhere to be seen on the property.  Kmart was out a $6,500 forklift.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 3:19 p.m.
