♦ As many “positivity thinkers” in Salisbury and Rowan County are predicting: Salisbury, N.C. will sometime in the future be renamed “Robber’s Roost, N.C.” on Rand McNally Road Atlases if Salisbury isn’t replaced on the venerable atlas by a skull and crossbones.  Since the Sportscaster’s Hall of Fame fled from our crime racked burg, perhaps a criminal justice wax figure museum would be a perfect fit for Salisbury in the South Main Badlands.  Think of all the Salisbury greats: Otto Wood, the legendary Robin Hood of the Piedmont gunned down on E. Innes St., the Tutterow Murderers, Chief Rory “OxyContin” Collins, and many more.  Plenty of empty buildings available on South Main and more coming.

According to Salisbury Police sources U-Haul of Arizona, at Mott’s Powersports on 1325 N. Main Street, was the victim Saturday of “motor vehicle theft-truck” when a thief walked onto the U-Haul lot and drove off with 2012 GMC Tg33 truck (valued at $15,000).  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 9:43 a.m.

The crime remains under investigation.  No suspects have been named at this time.
