Violence is off to a bang in Salisbury halfway through February. So far no murders yet within Salisbury’s city limits, but our computer models are predicting at least one or two will happen soon among our trigger happy citizens. In the meantime be satisfied with guns being waved or fired or a stabbing where the victims survives thanks to the surgical artistry and critical care in hospitals only a helicopter ride away in Winston-Salem.
According to Salisbury Police sources Jonathan Leach, 30, of S. Link Avenue and Corey Bateman, 27, of E. Liberty street, were victims of an “assault-gun” by the intersection of S. Link Avenue and W. Innes Street on Saturday afternoon. Apparently the pair were threatened by a stranger with a revolver who was reported to be driving a 2003 white Nissan Altima. No shots were reported fired and no one was injured.
At this time no motive for revolver threat was provided or a description of the suspect given. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch 3:24 p.m.
