According to Salisbury Police sources Xavier Dionne Lowe, 18, was arrested at 8 a.m. Thursday morning at 178 Montview Road in Mocksville. Lowe, one several suspects in the August 27th, 2017 shooting murder of Kornell Marquis Cook, 24, at an apartment complex at 642 Williams Road between Standish Street and Old Plank Road in Salisbury. The late Mr. Cook was found crumpled by the back door of an apartment. Lowe had been sought by the Salisbury Police since the murder. Two other young men Elija-wn Unique Oglesby, 18, and Travarsee D’von Miller, 18, both suspects in the killing, are already in the Rowan County Detention Center charged with murder.
Lowe, under no bond, is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
The NC SBI and the Davie County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this morning’s arrest.

RFP Article from August 27th, 2017: “Update-Salisbury: Kornell Cook Dies from Multiple Gunshot Wounds Sunday Night at the Brenner Crossing Apartments on Williams Street”:
“According to Salisbury Police sources Kornell Marquis Cook, 24, a resident of 111 Hawkins Loop, Salisbury, died of multiple gunshot wounds Sunday night at around 8:30 p.m. in the Brenner Crossing Apartments in Salisbury.
Cook was shot in the back porch of a Brenner Crossing apartment at 642 Williams Street between Standish Street and Old Plank Road. He expired at the scene.
Witnesses heard multiple shots. Salisbury-Rowan NAACP President Gemale Black told RFP that he was visiting friends in the complex and heard shots and ran outside only to hear a speeding car exit onto Brenner. Black ran to the victim to render assistance and called 911. It appeared the young man had been shot in the back. He did not get there in time to identify the vehicle or shooter. Kornell is said to be brothers with or closely related to Jalen Cook who was arrested for the August 1, 2017 double murder on the 100 Block of East Fisher St. (Murder at the Mural) Several witnesses at tonight’s murder scene wondered if the two incidents may be related in some way or even if tonight’s murder was retaliatory.
The Police are conducting an intensive investigation with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
