Salisbury: Mother and 30 Year-old Son Allegedly Battle on Lincolnton Road Friday. Both Wind Up in the Detention Center with Injuries

According to Salisbury Police sources a mother and son combo were arrested Friday evening at their home on 1008 Lincolnton Road after the pair allegedly battled to a stalemate and sustained minor injuries. The altercation allegedly started off with shoving and ended up punching. According to sources it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the melee.

Teresa Ann Burgess, 48, a convicted felon dwelling at 1008 Lincolnton Road was the victim an “assault-simple physical (misdemeanor)” and was also arrested for an “assault-simple physical” of her son Dennis Anthony Burgess, 30, living at the same address. The mother owns an incredible felony record, but has not had any recent scrapes with the law. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 6:24 p.m.

Dennis Anthony Burgess was arrested at 1008 Lincolnton Road and charged with “assault on a female (misdemeanor)” for assaulting his mother.

The mother remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond while her son bonded out of the Detention Center after posting the $1,000 bond.
