According to Salisbury Police sources Brittany Desha Thompson, 30, of Salisbury was arrested on 6335 Long Branch Road this morning at 11:34 a.m. for 2 alleged robberies at the Rushco convenience store robbery at 1518 E. Innes Street and for resisting arrest. The Salisbury Police were assisted by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in making this morning’s arrest.
The first Rushco robbery was August 8th, 2017 and the 2nd was on March 20th, 2018. Thompson, a convicted felon, is being charged with 2 counts of common law robbery.

“According to the Salisbury Police sources the Rushco Convenience Store at 1518 E. Innes St. was a victim of “robbery-strong arm no weapon” early Tuesday morning when robber(s) entered the store though the front door and forced a Rushco employee at the threat of a firearm (not displayed) to hand over $121. The robber promptly left through the front door and fled the area before officers arrived.
No one was injured during the incident. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 2:35 a.m.
The case remains under further investigation. At this time the police have revealed no suspect or disclosed a description of the robber.

“Gas Station convenience stores are easy pickings in Salisbury with unarmed staff, always something in the registers and safes, and cigarettes to grab on the way out the door along with a bag full of snacks.
Salisbury Police sources report the Rushco convenience store #4 at 1518 East Innes Street was the victim of a “robbery-firearm” when a robber(s) entered the front door and approached an employee. It is not known at this time if the robber(s) showed a firearm or made a threat. In any event the robber(s) helped themselves to $148 in cash (See the manifest below) and left through the front door. A call went out to 911 dispatch at 4:27 a.m. and officers arrived on the scene a short time later.

No injuries were reported. It’s hoped security cameras produced some decent footage to help identify the criminal(s)
The case remains open. As yet no suspects have been named or arrests made. Hopefully we’ll obtain a description of the robber(s).
