♦  According to Salisbury Police sources Melvin DeWayne Bookhart, 32, a convicted felon, and his sidekick Jonathan Charles Fitzpatrick, 21, both of Salisbury, had a score to settle over a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon at house on 1434 N. Main Street. They followed basic code of the streets: “Talk Sh**–Get Hit.” Bookhart and Fitzpatrick were both arrested for an alleged baseball bat assault on Michael Floyd, 19, of Everhart Avenue, Landis and Robert Jones, 17, of 1430 N. Main Street.  According to a N. Main resident Bookhart and Fitzpatrick were swinging for the “fences”.  Jones was whacked twice in the back of the head and brought to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center for an exam and treatment.  A baseball bat is a very dangerous weapon that can produce a serious head trauma.  Floyd received a blow to his knee.  Luckily both men’s injuries were viewed as minor.

The crime was reported to 911 dispatch 1:13 p.m.  Bookhart and Jones were arrested around 3 p.m.
