“By their fruits ye shall know them”
♦ So goes Salisbury, so goes the rest of the county. It is putting a hurting on Rowan County’s reputation all across the United States. One of the reasons why no business or jobs are coming to Rowan County is easy to see: Salisbury, N.C. The county seat’s records for crime, poverty, and education serve as a black flag. All the mismanaged and corrupt city government does is sponge off the county, the state, and the Federal government and try to shove their candidates onto the county commission and the school board. The results, whenever Salisbury succeeds, are plain enough to see.
I don’t know what can be done anymore for Salisbury because the city special interests has sucked that city blue. Their idea of getting along is only getting along on their terms.
The county should think about cutting its ties completely with the city of Salisbury. Time for a Salisbury County and a Salisbury School System. Two separate counties, Salisbury and Rowan, if that can be accomplished. Then the Salisbury special interests will go silent with their nonsense about “the West End Plaza is going to raise county taxes”. (It’s going to lower them) “The county commissioners are bullies who can’t get along” (They are constantly being attacked by Doug Paris and his father, Salisbury’s city council, and Richard “Sue the County Taxpayers” Miller) “The county lacks transparency”. (Salisbury’s city government is a top secret government)
Cut Salisbury loose or they will take you down with all their entitlements, crime, and awful city schools.
