.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE NORTHEAST GULF OF
MEXICO WILL COMBINE WITH AN APPROACHING STRONG UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE TO CREATE WIDESPREAD HEAVY WINTRY PRECIPITATION
ACROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA. MAINLY SNOW IS
EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS…WITH
SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ACROSS MOST OF THE REST OF THE FOOTHILL
AND PIEDMONT AREAS. THE PRECIPITATION WILL END FROM THE WEST
THURSDAY MORNING AS A FINAL BAND OF SNOW. SNOW MAY LAST INTO THE
AFTERNOON HOURS THURSDAY ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 77.

* TIMING…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BE THE MAIN PRECIPITATION
TYPES THE REST OF THE NIGHT…THOUGH A FEW PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW
WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF CHARLOTTE. A FINAL
ROUND OF HEAVY SHOW IS EXPECTED THURSDAY MORNING INTO THE EARLY
AFTERNOON.
