♦ The Salisbury Police Department arrested Daniel Darby, 17, of the 100 block of East Horah Street after he allegedly attempted to break into a Fisher Street home Sunday at around 6:30 a.m. According to police sources, the homeowner heard a rear window shatter and saw a young black male standing on the porch. Earlier neighbors reported a young black male rang doorbells in the area and was later seen running toward East Liberty Street. Mr. Darby was shortly apprehended by Salisbury Police.
The suspect was charged with a list misdemeanor offenses, including breaking and entering, obstruct, resist, delaying an officer and vandalism. Mr. Darby is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond and has a pending 2013 case involving a misdemeanor larceny charge.
