Letter-to-the-Editor: A Response to Diane Goldstein’s Review of Laugh Tracks at Spoken Space

♦ Diane Goldstein nailed it in her review of Laugh Tracks at Spoken Space. I went Saturday night and left slightly dispirited after seeing the show.  I need to remind myself that some individuals completely misperceive their abilities and “go for it”.  The Laugh Track performances exemplify the Dunning-Kruger Effect eminently described in Steve Mensing’s article several months ago in the Rowan Free Press: “Dunning–Kruger Effect: When Distorted Self-Perception and Illusions of Superiority Trick Entertainers, Politicians, and Cities.”
