♦ The county commissioners and Rowan-Salisbury School Board met today in special session at the Ellis Street Administration Building. The early afternoon session was extremely fruitful with both parties close to an agreement. The mediation will be continued to review potential agreements.
Mediator Witchard told the Rowan Free Press: “The two boards were talking today and it brought them closer together.”
Dr. Lynn Moody, the school superintendent smiled brightly after the meeting adjourned and told us: “I feel very good about what happened today.”
Mike Caskey, county commissioner said: “Looks like we’ll finally have a Central Office. Just some changing in the wording of their proposal. Hopefully we’ll meet one more time and then it will be over.”
Chuck Hughes: “I was very proud of both boards the way they performed today.”
