Letter-to-the Editor: Downtown Salisbury Only Made Salisbury a Dangerous Slum

♦ Let’s face it the upcoming county-wide election is not really between Republicans and Democrats or even Conservatives and RINOS–its between people who desire fiscally responsible government and those who are satisfied with corrupt go nowhere government like the city of Salisbury and their puppeteers Downtown Salisbury Only. The old money Salisbury network decimated Salisbury and the county over the last decade and a half.  Downtown Salisbury Only destroyed the Rowan-Salisbury school system and covered it up with meaningless awards and positive fogging.  The city of Salisbury is way down at the bottom of North Carolina cities.  It is a desperate little blood sucking nowheresville that few in the county or outer city bother with.  It is a crime ridden slum with soaring poverty.  It is still descending into oblivion and their dying masters still want to dominate the county.  They want to suck the blood of the surrounding county by sticking their minions on the Rowan county commission and the school board.

Look at what the Downtown Salisbury Only has accomplished in their 15 years of abusive power.

Fibrant Fiasco.

Meltdown in city services.

Soaring poverty.

Gangs controlling large portions of the city and selling drugs.

Really dreadful Rowan-Salisbury School system.

Police and fire departments understaffed.  People are frightened in even the better areas of the city as break-ins mount.

Salisbury will continue to go downhill as more and more middle and upper classes unload their houses and flee the area for safety and jobs.

There is no reason for Downtown Salisbury Only to have a say in either Salisbury or the county.  You can’t get along with them–they want all the marbles. Their leadership has destroyed Salisbury.

There’s no accident for the hastily-arranged Community Forum this week. BlueNC already had been working with the Rowan Concerned Citizens to organize a “Lighting the Way” luminary service at First Calvary Baptist Church set for Friday evening, as well as the “1,000 Women March on Salisbury” at City Park from 11 to 5 on Saturday.

Preceding it all with a Community Visioning Forum Wednesday and Thursday will give the Concerned Citizens their talking points leading up to the May primaries, and to the November election. BlueNC has focused on Rowan County as a key player in its “Souls to the Polls” campaign in the churches for late October this election year. Klusman, Coltrain, Miller and Belk are the most likely beneficiaries. These people need to be exposed and where they get their orders from.  The county and the outer Salisbury needs to destroy the last remnant of the Downtown Salisbury Only bacterium.

It is too bad but Salisbury is a lifeless shell. It’s over in Salisbury. Don’t let the county be dragged down by it.
