♦ This weekend Laugh Tracks puts on another Fab-O production at the Spoken Space Theater on North Lee Street in the heart of Salisbury’s fringe “arts district”. Their tired warhorse Rowan Hillbillies IV will be trotted out once again for the Downtown Salisbury ONLY crowd.
Laugh Tracks fringe comedy is the only real game in the 233rd ranked city and town in North Carolina. The lineup is subject to change according to artistic director’s Sam Post’s mood ring. The lineup:
• Rowan Hillbillies IV is a Rowan County Hater’s delight. Todd Paris took time off from his bizarre 24/7 internet posting tirade and one man crusade at the county court house to save ”Downtown Salisbury Only” and his son Pinnochio.
• $$$Dancing for Dollars$$$ Another show stopper starring Todd Paris in interpretive dances based on the hit musicals Elephant Man and Psychopathia Sexualis. Todd lets it ALL hangout! (He’ll lap dance for interested parties at the Spoken Space)
• ELDERCARE starring Chris Hamm, taking time off from his busy non-stop schedule of exposing the Rowan Free Press. Laugh-a-minute with Chris Hamm re-enacting scenes from the “Bad Seed” where he playfully pushes granny in a wheelchair down a long staircase and beats a heavy bag wearing a gray wig. After this crescendo of senior violence subsides, he will serenade the audience with his smash hit: “Hillbilly Heroin Blues”
• Sue McHugh will appear with her new all girl band: “I Hate Boys–Let’s Throw Rocks at Them”. They will sing: “I kissed a boy and got MRSA.”
• The Gold Dust Twins: Judy Klusman and GeoRene Jones will reprise their brief takeover of the Rowan County Commission. Judy will go into a long troubled soliquey about how she’ll sell the West End Plaza and explain, with the help of Todd Paris’s script, how the West End Plaza, will jack up the taxpayer’s tab. She might even warn us from her master Todd’s playbook how all of Salisbury’s ambulance chasers will be forcibly interned at the West End Plaza.
• Midnight at Ivan’s Lil’ Paris is rumored to make a guest appearance in this one. Don’t hold your breath-a-lizer.
