♦ Recently I had the good fortune of traveling to Mooresville, N.C. with my friend Tom Harrell to visit Richard’s Coffee Shop, home of an outstanding veteran’s meeting spot and the Living Military Museum. Richard’s Coffee Shop in Mooresville will be the subject of an upcoming story in the Rowan Free Press. Today I’d like to write about a really excellent sushi restaurant and Asian buffet in Mooresville: TK Sushi Restaurant at 694 Brawley School Road.
Tom and I arrived at TK Sushi for lunch and were greeted Manh Tang, TK’s manager and his staff. Right off I noticed Manh Tang made a connection with his guests–a real plus in any restaurant. The buffet food was well prepared, healthy, and above all very tasty. I loaded my plate with mouth watering chicken wings, spring rolls, BBQ ribs, snap beans, cantaloupe chunks, and pineapple. It was a pleasure to eat. The host served us a cup of Vietnamese coffee that tasted like a desert delight and a sampling of some Asian desert I can’t name because I’ve never seen it before. The whole buffet meal was extremely satisfying and was budget priced at $6.99.
I seldom gush over food, but TK Sushi Restaurant deserves 5 stars and a sixth for service beyond the call of duty.
TK Sushi Restaurant is open 7 days a Week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
