Figuratively speaking, the tanks are rumbling toward the outskirts of the County Airport. The liberators are annihilating scant pockets of resistance wherever they locate them. Throughout the county and the city many are rejoicing as this great economic tool is about to be set free.
Both SB 269 and HB 260, the Senate and House versions of the Rowan County Airport de-annexation bills, will be heard by the full House Finance Committee Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Rowan County Commission Chairman Jim Sides plans to be there and speak favorably on the bills. Jim Sides told the RFP: “With a favorable report from this committee, both bills should go to the House Floor for a vote. SB 269 has already passed the Senate, so HB 260 is the only one needed to pass the House for the County Airport de-annexation to become law.”
They are lining up the Governor’s pens as we write.
