Letter-to-the Editor: Salisbury, N.C. is Dragging the Rest of the County Down. It DESTROYS Our Jobs Future

Will Secord, Kannapolis, N.C.

♦ Our county seat Salisbury is dragging Rowan County down, hurting the county’s reputation, fleecing our county taxpayers, and driving jobs away from Rowan County.  The whole world knows Salisbury, N.C. has SOARING 28% poverty, is a criminal cesspool noted for break-ins, street assaults, gangs, stick-ups, and murders, and some of the worst schools in the county and state.  Their downtown looks like a skid row of vacancies.  They even try to interfere with the Rowan county’s ability to get an 1-85 interchange done for the Southern end of the county and try their best to block major retail at Summit outside of Salisbury’s clutches.

Who doesn’t remember Salisbury’s desperate attempt to bring the Central Office to 329 S.Main the contaminated grease pit just so their downtown merchants can help themselves to some imagined gravy.

If Rowan County ever wants to get ahead they need to let Salisbury go their own way instead of sponging off the county taxpayers and soiling the water’s of county economic development and education,

Salisbury’s entitlement culture, top-heavy crime, and low flying education will end Rowan’s future development.

Please find a way to get Salisbury off of the County’s backs.  Let Salisbury become its own County or District of North Carolina.

Salisbury’s leaders destroyed the city police department. They raped Salisbury with deadbeat Fibrant. They forcibly annexed decent people so they could rip them off.  Salisbury has accomplished virtually nothing in economic development of their own.

If the Rowan County has poor statistics and isn’t getting needed jobs its because of Salisbury.  Think of what would happen if we cut the cancer of Salisbury off of Rowan’s spine!  All of Rowan’s statistics would dramatically climb.  Bring jobs to Rowan by getting rid of Salisbury.
