♦ 37 year old Wayne Lee Morrison, II was arrested on several charges after a search of his vehicle turned up 94 hydrocodone tablets (Hillbilly Heroin) according to sources at the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
After 12 a.m. on April 16th, sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic checkpoint on White Farm Road when they spotted a vehicle make an abrupt turn on Deer Brook Drive and fail to use a turn signal. The vehicle was followed to the Volonte Motel on highway 601. Morrison consented to the deputies search of his vehicle where the hydrocodone tables were found secreted in an area below the center console and was charged with two counts of trafficking more than 28 grams of heroin/opium, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule III controlled substance, and one count of interfering with a utility meter due to an outstanding warrant issued on August 14, 2013.
Morrison was taken Rowan County Detention Center where he was placed under a $150,500 bond.
