• Appointment of Joint Planning Committee With Rowan County Board of Commissioners and Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education. Chairman Jim Sides recently appointed Vice-Chairman Craig Pierce, Commissioner Mike Caskey, County Manager Gary Page and Leslie Heidrich, assistant county manager/finance director, to the committee. They will meet monthly with a Board of Education planning committee every month until a plan is created acceptable to both boards and the commissioners adopt it. The joint planning committee meetings will be open to the public
