According to Salisbury Police sources a black male wearing a clown’s nose, and an afro-wig attempted to stick-up Ace Cash Express at 1529 West Innes after 4 p.m. Monday. Brandishing a handgun and what appeared to be a bomb, the robber passed the female clerk a note and told her to read it as he placed a briefcase on the counter. The briefcase appeared to contain a bomb like device constructed out of a plastic bottle with green wires running from it.
Besides the clown’s nose and wig, the robber was slimly built about 6 feet tall wore a black baseball hat, black trousers, and a black baseball jersey with red striped sleeves.
The clerk ran to the rear of the business where she dialed up 911. The robber soon fled the Ace Cash Express.
