♦ Here is a breakdown of the latest most common dirty campaign tactics being employed mostly by Downtown Salisbury ONLY in their desperation to win a seat or two on the county commission so they can raise taxes on County citizens to keep Salisbury, N.C. on life supports and build frivolous and over-priced projects that line the pockets of a few. Let’s take a look:
• A covert tactic is for someone to claim they are running a POSITIVE and RESPECTFUL campaign. In making this claim they elevate themselves to a moral higher ground. Normal folks don’t make these kinds of claims, but manipulators do. Only behind other candidate’s backs they backstab and put them down. Seriously who proclaims their campaign is POSITIVE and RESPECTFUL?
For a better understanding of those prone to employ claims of running a POSITIVE and RESPECTFUL campaign learn about them here:
• Accuse the county commissioners of being bullies. Commissioners Jim Sides and Craig Pierce are commonly targeted in this strategy. It’s done on PAC cards, newspaper ads and stories, and so forth.
• Accuse the County Commissioners of being contentious and uncooperative. The county commission’s opposition frequently use the contentious tactic in both letters-to-the-editors elsewhere, in public commenting periods, and in posts specifically designed to harm the reputations of the county commissioners. A close examination of the county commissioner’s record demonstrates they do make concessions and attempt to meet others half way. The county commissioners regularly meet with those holding opposing viewpoints for lengthy discussions. The idea that the county commissioners so called “fight” with the city is claimed to harm the area’s reputation and drive away business. Clearly conflicts occur between hundreds of prospering municipalities and their prospering counties all across the United States and these conflicts do not chase away business.
• Accuse the County Commissioners of not being transparent in their dealings. The PAC send their people out to write letters to the city’s newspaper accusing the county commissioners of not being transparent. The county commissioner’s have been found as exemplary for their transparency by the John Locke Society. Further they answer Freedom of Information Acts, unlike a certain municipal government, and have set aside a transparency page on the Rowan County website.
• Accuse the county commissioner’s of being against positive change. Consider what’s being “sold” as positive change. Is it really?
