Chuck Hughes, Salisbury, N.C.
Lords of Salisbury,
With the demise of your authority to invade more homesteads and capture more taxpayers to fill your coffers, you further abuse your remaining subjects with more taxation. After you gather your undeserved gains from their labor, you will likely continue to waste it on one unsuccessful project after another.
I ask you, where is the fairness in paying for the rain that falls from my roof, for services either neglected or never provided, and bike trails no one will ever use. Leave us not forget the degrading fiber optic service, the cost of which continues to grow despite its recent bill board that now boasts: “faster than a tricycle.”
However, My Lords, since I have no other choice, I genuflect and beseech you to have mercy on your captive serfs and search elsewhere for means to heal your decaying kingdom.
Your reluctant servant,
Chuck Hughes
