Vandalism on the Rise in Salisbury, N.C. Windows Smashed in Old West Innes Business District

♦ With vandalism on the rise throughout Salisbury, N.C., sources in the Salisbury Police report a number of businesses suffered broken windows along Old West Innes Street through the weekend into Monday.  Four rock hurling vandals were caught on surveillance cameras, but so far no arrests were made. The Police are seeking information about the vandals’ identities.

All of the window smashing took place in daylight hours sometime before 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the 1000 block of Old West Innes. One business, Ashley’s Embroidery 1009 Old West Innes, was “rocked” Monday.  Suspected vandals were seen fleeing toward Institute Street.

A number of other businesses had their windows shattered.  No break-ins were reported.

Other businesses suffering window damage were KMD Holdings, 1001 Old West Innes, Specialized Computer Support Services, 1017 Old West Innes St., as well as vacant buildings formerly housing the Paint and Floor Center at 1021–1023–1029 Old West Innes St.

Updated: Somewhere in the vicinity of 20 windows were broken at Salisbury High.  Sam’s Car Wash was vandalized.
