♦ HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEST END PLAZA! Today you were born 27 years ago and your magnificent and sturdy structure is a testimony to your enduring youth.
We love you West End Plaza and your surrounding neighborhood, which you keep alive and vibrant with your presence, salutes you on this day July 31st your birthday.
Despite the fallacious claims of those who would bring you and your surrounding Salisbury neighborhood to ruin by calling for your demolition or sale, you are not the least bit decrepit and have many, many vital years to come. We bought you–we own you and we will fight to keep you and your Salisbury neighborhood alive.
Noble West End Plaza was a gem of a purchase. Like the many successful “repurposed malls” across our nation whose mixed use repurposing leads to:
• Great savings for governmental and business office space, retail, storage, medical clinics, veteran services and boards of election, restaurants, and an endless supply of other valuable purposes.
• Your enduring and youthful presence adds to Salisbury’s and the county’s tax base.
• Ah you are the home of Thelma’s Down Home Cooking and the Veteran’s Coffee shop.
• Without your vital presence both your neighborhood and the surrounding businesses and eateries on the periphery of the West End Plaza would be greatly harmed. You draw people to your Salisbury Neighborhood. Yeah even the entirety of Salisbury would be harmed by a foolish “ecological misstep”.
Happiest of Birthdays and many more to come.
