♦ In a major shakeup at the Salisbury Post, insiders at the Post confirmed that the Post’s highly-regarded city reporter Emily Ford resigned to take a job at Duke’s Research Campus in Kannapolis, N.C. where she will be employed as a communications specialist. She will now spend more time with her three children. Rumors about Emily’s leaving have circulated for weeks. Confirmation came earlier today. Her last day was on Friday August 22nd.
In the last few months the Salisbury Post lost both Emily Ford and the late Jim Holt, the county government reporter, both esteemed professionals. Staffers there say both will be missed.
Replacements for both reporters are already onboard at the Post. The new county government reporter, Josh Bergeron, arrived from The Selma Times Journal in Alabama.
