Rowan-Salisbury Schools Board of Education work session at 4 p.m. on Monday September 8th in the Ellis Street Board Room at 314 N. Ellis Street.
Highlights of Monday’s Work Session:
• Discussion of state’s graduation/course of study requirements by the Director of Secondary Education Elisa Cox.
• Presentation by SFL+A Architects hired for handling plans for Knox Middle School renovations and the consolidated elementary school in Western Rowan.
• Closed session property matter at the meeting’s start with the school’s attorney present. A property near the school system’s bus garage on Julian Road was offered. As yet no purpose for this property has been determined.
• Other matters to be discussed how educators should use Twitter, school visits, the Literacy Summit, student behavior, proposed technology buy-back plan, prequalification of construction bidders, discipline of exceptional Children/Students with Disabilities, tobacco products, and the school system’s maintenance information.
