♦ Kudos for Commissioner Pierce! It’s time to crackdown on freeloading bicyclists. I agree 1000%. If they want to use our highways and endanger the lives of thousands of motorists every year they need to pay the piper. I couldn’t agree more.
• If they want to use our highways, they need to take rigorous licensing tests and pay up for a license. $125 bucks a year to do their thing out on our highways. How many of us motorists have been endangered by bicyclists who drive carelessly on our highways without any regard for others? A license will contribute some to bike lane construction and road upkeep. Most bicyclists break every rule in the book. How many times have we seen them go right through a light or tailgate a driver?
• Bicycle riders extreme carelessness and irresponsibility has caused many vehicular accidents. How many thousands of fatalities have bicyclists caused?
• How many bicyclists have we witnessed sky-high on alcohol and narcotics? They will need to be hit up with fines and DUI’s. They ride recklessly and they kill. They need to be held accountable.
• They MUST have insurance to pay for any injuries, death, or damage to property.
They have no excuse NOT to pay up.
