RFP Staff
♦Last Thursday the RFP staff traveled on a photo op to the ”Spite Hole” at Vanderford and West Bank. Here we spoke with Henry B. Waiters a long time neighborhood resident and several neighbors. The “Spite Hole”, according to Mr. Waiters, was alleged to be the city’s payback for the neighborhood’s non support of a housing development for the aged and the disabled back during the Treme era. For nearly ten years neighbors complained to the city and got no action. Late yesterday Scott Hunt, a former city employee and RFP scout, reported to us that the city water department finally responded to this “Land that Time Forgot” and began a massive cleanup of this overgrown and vermin infested runoff.
The RFP loudly applauds the city for their long overdue action. Now get off your hindquarters and clean up the rest of our city. Our cameras are everywhere.
